Meet Up Clean Up scores at College Park

Oxnard - Meet Up Clean Up continued its great work at College Park on Sunday, March 23, as the group collaborated with City Corps and Parks and Rec Staff to make an impact.

VOLUNTEERS painted, raked, picked up debris, and hauled it away.

After work, City Corps treated the volunteers to lunch and enjoyed each other’s company.

Cultural and Community Services Analyst Mariah Sanchez said Meet Up Clean Up is their fourth adventure.

“We started in February,” she said. “We take different turns at different parks each fiscal year. The Eggcessable Egg Hunt will be here in two weeks at this park. We picked this park, so when we invite all our kids, it will be nice.”

Sanchez is inspired because it brings people of all ages into the community to make a difference.

“We see people learning how to walk, and it really leads them on a path into the community when they get older,” she said. “A lot of kids come for the Community Service Hours, which can be an option for them. Everybody comes with their friends to have a good time.”
