Oxnard-- After a Covid hiatus, the Oxnard Multicultural Festival roared back to life Saturday, October 1, with cultures coming to life and enriching the community.
THE Festival was a celebration of food, music, and treasures from far away, as Oxnard came together as one group. Community Relations Commission Chair Adam Lopez said after a two-year hiatus, bringing the Multicultural Festival back is a gratifying feeling.
“There are 13 different countries represented with booths, seven countries with food, and we have over 33 countries with flag displays everywhere,” he said.
He said the groups already know the Multicultural Festival and jumped at the opportunity to get involved.
“The Philippine and China booths interest me the most because they brought the artifacts, storytelling, and different types of art and culture to present to the kids,” he said. “That caught my attention.”
He wanted everyone to be represented because if that didn’t happen, they wouldn’t be true to the Festival.
