OLD TIME fiddlers deliver classic songs

Oxnard- Area residents got a special treat at the Oxnard Public Library Saturday, March 4, as the Old Time Fiddlers delivered a solid performance that the crowd loved, courtesy of The Friends of the Oxnard Public Library.

THE Fiddlers delivered a “bakers’ dozen” of classics from the Allman Brothers, Hank Williams, Marty Robbins, and more. The group’s Mission is to preserve all the “wonderful tunes,” but they are not limited to just the old songs.

After the show, Beverly Fiery said the Friends of the Library do various events to raise money.

“The Friends of the Library hold activities, run the bookstore, and sell second-hand books to raise money to donate to the Library for whatever is needed,” she said. “The money that is collected is used to have special programs like the Old Time Fiddlers and programs for the children.”

She said second-hand books raise a lot of money.

 

“We have a group called “The Bookies,” and we take the books in and prepare them to put on sale,” Fiery said. “Each day, they are in front of the entrance.”

She loves the Old Time Fiddlers.
