PH Capital Improvement Budget approved

Port Hueneme--The City Council Monday, June 5, approved the Capital Improvement Program Budget (CIP) for Fiscal Years 23-24 and 24-25.

Finance Director Lupé Acero presented the budget and said the workshop on May 25 brought forward some changes from Council input, which include adding an $8,000 appropriation in 23-24 for two firepits and $10,000 in 24-25 to convert a tennis court into a soccer field.

“We’re going to add information on traffic safety studies,” she said. “Our Public Works Director has compiled information and attached it to the staff report. We are noting the information on traffic studies that have been conducted and information on traffic studies. The staff is going to continue looking for grant opportunities. That’s on our list.”

Acero said the Citywide Operating Budget is $58.1588 million, with $26.5423 million in the General Fund, $25.5724 million in the Enterprise and Other Funds, and the Housing Agency Budget is $6.044 million.

“For fiscal year 25, the City and Related Energies Budget is $57.1022 million; the General Fund is $26.819 million, the Enterprise and Other Funds is $24.1984 million, and the Housing Agency is $6.0846 million,” she said.
