Port Hueneme--The Water Agency Monday, December 19, received and filed an operational report on the Brackish Water Demonstration Facility.
Public Works Director Don Villafana presented the report to the Agency and said the plant operated throughout November, and the water demand was 2.92 million gallons per day. In November 2021, the water demand was just over 3 million gallons per day.
“We’re using less water this November than last November,” he said. “For the month of November, United Water supplied approximately 86 percent of our water, and Calleguas supplied approximately 14 percent of our water.”
He said the City is on a calendar year for water allocation, and the annual United allocation is 3,657 acre-feet. Through November, they’ve used 2,954 acre-feet which is 81 percent of its United allocation.
“We’re not going to use 19 percent more in the month of December, Villafana said. “We’re below what our United water allocation is.”
He said the Calleguas allocation is 1,480 acre-feet per year, and to date, they’ve used 678 acre-feet, 46 percent of its water allocation.
