Planning Commission bylaws move forward

Oxnard-- The Planning Commission’s updated bylaws continue with Planning & Environmental Services Manager Joe Pearson analyzing the Commission’s changes.

The Finance and Go­ver­nance Com­mittee approved Planning Com­mission bylaws with changes during its October 24 meeting.

He said Rule 13, subcommittees, was relo­ca­ted from Section 10 of the bylaws.

“This section has been revised to require that the subcommittee have a minimum of two members and clarify that the subcommittee is still subject to the Planning Commission and subject to the Commission’s authority, direction, and rules,” he said. “Rule 14, parliamentary procedure, was relocated from section 1.1 of the current bylaws. This section is consistent with the current bylaws.”

Pearson said Rule 15, resignation, was relocated from 13 of the current bylaws.

“Rule 16, adoption and amendment of rules and procedures was relocated from section 14 of the current bylaws and was revised to include the requirement that upon adoption or amendment of the bylaws by the Planning Commission, the bylaws shall be presented to the City Council for adoption,” he said.
