Planning Commission rejects Oxnard Holistics

Oxnard-- The Planning Commission, Thursday, January 13, denied a Commercial Cannabis Business Retail special use permit for TD Enterprise, known as Oxnard Holistics at 1015 Harbor Boulevard.

The vote was 3-3, with one abstention, and the item didn’t have a majority vote. TD Enterprise has 18 days to file an appeal of the denial with the Oxnard City Council.

The item drew passionate responses, as the commission reported that 65 people signed up to speak about the motion.

Community Development Department Associate Planner Jose Coyotl presented the item to the commission, and he said the request was to operate a 1,740 square foot commercial suite of a 17,615 square foot multi-tenant commercial building on 2.39 acres.

“As part of the project, there will be tenant improvements consisting of the installation of partition walls, security upgrades to the existing building, minor plumbing upgrades, upgrades to the existing fire alarm system, and the installation of secured doors and windows,” he said. “Cannabis retail operations will be conducted between 9 am and 9 pm daily. This application was filed by Christy Byers.”
