Security Agreement approved

Oxnard--The Public Works & Transportation Committee approved an agreement with Quest National Security for security guard services during its Tuesday, November 28 meeting.

The agreement has a not-to-exceed amount of $6 million for an initial term starting January 1, 2024, ending December 31, 2024, with the option to extend through December 31, 2028.

Environmental Resources Manager Eric Zetz presented the item and said Oxnard’s Public Works Department is responsible for the operation of the Oxnard Transportation Center, the Water Campus, the Oxnard Wastewater Treatment Plant, and headworks facility, the advanced water purification facility, and the Del Norte Material Recycling Facility.

“All of the City facilities are located within the City limits and provide essential public services,” he said. “All of the City facilities require security guard services to ensure the safety of personnel, the protection of property, customers, and the general public.”

Zetz said the City’s facilities have used private security guard services for over 15 years.
