Sewer Use Agreement moves to Council

Oxnard-- The Public Works & Transportation Committee, Tuesday, November 22, approved Sewer Use Agreement A-8503 between the City of Oxnard and Channel Islands Beach Community Services District.

The agreement is for 10 years and expires on December 31, 2033. The current agreement expires on December 31 and will generate between $250,000 and $350,000 for the City of Oxnard to be used to provide services.

Wastewater Division Manager Jan Hauser presented the video and said the Oxnard Wastewater System is a regional system that serves the City of Port Hueneme, the Channel Islands Beach District, a couple of unincorporated areas in Ventura, and the two Naval bases.

“We’re going through a process to update all the other sewer use agreements with the outside agencies, and that will be coming in the future,” he said.

The Channel Islands Beach Community Services District serves water and refuse collection in Hollywood Beach, Hollywood by the Sea, and Silver Strand Neighborhoods.
