Shoppers Boutique: A holiday treat

Oxnard—It was a shoppers’ delight at Port Hueneme VFW on Sunday, November 17, as the Post continued its tradition of offering a Holiday Shopping Paradise, which meant great gifts everywhere, fitting every budget, all handmade and ready to go.

THE event drew a huge crowd along with 33 vendors, with some of the proceeds benefitting the American Cancer Society.

Event Organizer Marci Fiala has been running the event for four years and said part of the vendor’s admission price is going to the American Cancer Society.

“They are a huge organization, do so many amazing things,” she said. “They put money into research and have programs that provide hair to people who lost their hair because of chemotherapy. They also have transportation programs where people drive people with cancer to appointments. The American Cancer Society is a great organization near and dear to my heart, and anytime I can support them, I’m more than happy to.”

 

Shari and Tony Haynes survived the Woolsey Fire on November 9, 2018, where they lost everything but regrouped and made wood logs with drawers from the trees that fell at their property.
