Oxnard — The City Council, on Tuesday, June 30, received an update on the recall efforts against Aaron Starr, made by Manuel Herrera.

I have a message to the Aaron Starr clan, in regard to the recall,” he said. “You can try to shut us up by filing an FPPC Complaint against us, and try to get us suspended on Nextdoor for posting videos about the recall, but your intimidation tactics will never work. Facts are facts, and facts cannot be disputed.”

The City played a video, and Herrera was asked at the podium at City Hall why he was the one standing there, instead of his neighbors from District Three.

“The answer is simple,” Herrera said. “While many of your (Starr’s) constituents want you gone, they have seen what happens to people who speak up against Aaron Starr and his small circle. They have seen you file lawsuit after lawsuit, they have seen the character assassination attempts, and they have seen AI (Artificial Intelligence) hit pieces mocking people and twisting the facts. That isn’t leadership.”

He said it's a cultural intimidation that you, Aaron Starr, have built, fostered, and protected.
