Oxnard-- The Community Services, Public Safety, Housing & Development Committee adopted the Community Development Agency’s Exempt Surplus Land Declaration Successor Agency resolution for the Meta Street Parcels October 11.
The action authorizes the land to be exempt surplus land and directs staff to enter into two grantees with the City to transfer the two parcels from the Successor Agency to the City at two locations, located at 6th Street in Downtown Oxnard to Meta Street for Governmental Use for $1 each.
Project Manager Adam Smith presented the video, and he said on July 28, 2022, the Oxnard Community Development Commission Successor Agency recommended the declaration of two Successor Agencyowned properties on 6th and Meta streets be declared as exempt surplus land.
“This allows the City or the Agency to use the land for its own use, such as open space and recreational use,” he said. “The Surplus Land Act governs these two properties, which is a state law that requires a local agency such as a City or Successor Agency to annually report on surplus land held by that agency. This act seeks to improve the process to provide notice of surplus land for affordable housing.”
