Summer cars fill antique adventures

Ventura—The dog days of summer are here, and the Antique Adventures Car Show Family continues their party, complete with great music, coffee, donuts that went fast, and camaraderie.

THE family meets each Sunday morning for the latest news and a few laughs along the way.

Fireball Tim Lawrence said he was on the way to American Pie Cars and Coffee in Camarillo, which wasn’t happening because of a street fair.

“The best part about this town is you can drive around on a Sunday morning and find cars somewhere,” he said. “I grew up in Ojai and remember this used to be Korbs Trading Post, so we know there would be cars here.”

He called Antique Adventures his rabbit hole.

“I already bought some die-cast, and I thought that I wasn’t going to buy anything, but the money falls out of your pocket,” he said. “There are so many cool things in this place.”

He came in Tommy Scalera’s 1994 Buick Roadmaster, the Official Car Show Safari Car.

 

“People are happy to see us because the car has a great personality and great white walls,” Fireball said. “We went to a die-cast show in Valencia on Saturday.”
