Surplus land moves forward to the city council

Oxnard-- On a 2-1 vote, the Community Services, Public Safety, Housing & Development Committee, Tuesday, December 28, designated 53 city parcels as surplus land.

HE Surplus Land

Act requires that the City of Oxnard issue an annual report on real properties it has declared surplus. Any land not necessary for the agency’s use is declared as surplus before selling the land.

The parcels include nine owned by the Oxnard Parking Authority and six owned by the City, including the former Social Security Building at 425 S. B Street, four parcels in “Plaza Park East,” owned by the Oxnard Parking Authority, five parcels owned by the City in downtown, one parcel owned by the City downtown in the Petting Zoo area, one parcel known as the “Former Gull’s Wing Museum” at 418 W. 4th Street, and one parcel owned by the City located within the City’s River Park Specific Plan Area.

The remaining 26 parcels are part of the “Oxnard Transit Center Fourth and Oxnard Boulevard” area and “Plaza Park South & Laundromat.”
