Trade Services Agreement advances

Oxnard--The Public Works & Transportation Committee, Tuesday, April 25, approved a Trade Services Agreement for on-call preventative maintenance and repairs for portable generators and heavy equipment.

The agreement with the Quinn Company authorizes Mayor John Zaragoza to execute the three-year agreement for a total not to exceed $840,000.

Environmental Resources Manager James Torrez presented the item and said Public Works owns and operates heavy machinery and equipment, including skidsteers, skip loaders, excavators, backhoes, and backup generators.

“This equipment is commonly used to move earth and sand, uncover underground utilities, and provide power during power outages,” Torrez said. “It is crucial to keep this equipment operational with this on-call agreement for regular and as-needed maintenance.”

He said the Purchasing Department released the requests for bids on December 29, 2022, which were due February 22, 2023. The Quinn Company was the only bidder.

“Quinn meets all required contractual provisions and possesses a City Business Tax Certificate, an insurance certificate, and a filing with the California Secretary of State,” he said. “Under this contract, Quinn will provide on-call maintenance services for various pieces of equipment and provide rental equipment as needed for emergencies.
