Oxnard-- In his report to the City Council Tuesday, March 21, City Manager Alex Nguyen said the City is having a community workshop from 8:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. on February 27, at 214 South C Street, for people to come and learn how to access utility bill assistance.
“This is in partnership with Community Action of Ventura County,” he said. “For information, call them at 805-436-4000.”
He said the special election to fill the District Six vacancy is Tuesday, March 7.
“We will not be holding the regularly scheduled Council meeting that evening,” he said. “For more information, people can go to venturavote.org.”
Nguyen said the County of Ventura launched studies to study the noise at Camarillo and Oxnard airports.
“They have public information meetings coming up,” he said. “The Camarillo meeting is March 20, and the Oxnard meeting is March 21. We don’t have the locations for the meetings yet. The time and location will be announced soon by the Airport District.”
He said they’re accepting applications for the Airport Planning Advisory Committee for both noise studies.
