Oxnard-- Heritage Square was the place to be, Saturday, January 8, as the Streets of Vintage Craft Market brought out a nice crowd, ready to have a great time in the sun.
THE event also featured performances from Drag Queens, who drove in from Las Vegas to perform and got the crowd cheering.
Proceeds from the event benefitted Diversity Collective VC.
Victoria Palomares from the Diversity Collective, who uses the pronouns, she, her, they, them, said the Covid-19 lockdowns caused a funding need for the group.
“Jose from Streets of Vintage came to me and said, why don’t we collaborate on something because it’s going to be hard to do any kind of fundraising,” she said. “He put this together for him and us. He’s been active with us from the beginning. He’s been like a backbone with us, so we have many thanks to Jose and his team at Streets of Vintage.”
She said the pandemic has been rough.
“The community has been very warm and open to us, and we’ve had a lot of help from everyone in the community,” she said. “We’re managing okay, but we’ll definitely take any help we can get.”
