Oxnard—The first 2026 Wilson Senior Center featured Senior is an old friend, David Weaver, who unfortunately lost his wife, but he still takes good care of himself. He continues to walk a lot, with no plans to change that for 2026.
DAVID first arrived at the Wilson Senior Center in 2023, and he really enjoyed it, after his daughter suggested that he try it out.
“I wanted to try it out yesterday, so I took the City Bus from home to Ojai,” he said. “When I got there, I walked around town a bit, and then I came home.”
He enjoyed the ride to Ojai, and David also likes learning about the bus route.
“It was warm when I got there, compared to here (Oxnard), he said. “It wasn’t hot, but there were warmer temperatures.”
He also learned that buses 6 and 16 parallel each other for a while.
“The next time I go to Ventura, I can take either bus and I get to wherever I want to go,” he said. “I went to Ojai by myself, because I wanted to make sure all the connections worked before I invite somebody else along.”
