Wilson Seniors keep busy and happy

Oxnard–Consistency is the rule at the Wilson Senior Center, consistent fun friendships, arts and crafts, puzzles, great, Senior-friendly, nutritious food, exercise, and most of all friendship at one of the City’s Senior hubs where all Seniors are welcomed with open arms.

LUPI Riveles spent her afternoon working on word searches and did it with a determined smile.

Across the table, Gracie was busy coloring a butterfly, and she made sure it was full of many colors.

“This is something I like to do, and they do a lot of great stuff here at the Senior Center,” she said. “I plan to make this butterfly look nice. My friend is using different colors (to draw a copy of the same picture). My friend across from me is using different colors, while I’m using two colors.”

A third Senior planned to use her imagination to create a butterfly highlighted in purple.

There was another big table playing Loteriá (a traditional Mexican board game of chance, similar to bingo, while the leader called the pictures, which got the crowd busy.

Dee was playing the game, and she was wearing a chalupa shirt modeled after one of the characters.
