Channel Islands--The creative community received a special treat at the Channel Islands Maritime Museum Saturday, April 17, as the venue hosted a Watercolors & Wine event where attendees got to enjoy a glass of wine while creating pictures of California Wildflowers.
THE group received instruction from Artist Christine May and learned the basics of watercolors, while discovering their artistic style.
May loves the Channel Islands Maritime Museum and what the Museum is all about.
“Howe and I brainstormed ideas, and this time it’s California Wildflowers,” May said. “We’ll be doing watercolor with Wildflowers.”
May said anyone can enjoy using art supplies, and it depends on the level you want to become involved.
“Sometimes even the most detailed artist will want to get some pigments on a brush and put it on paper, and it doesn’t matter what it looks like in the end,” she said.” That’s the way I run my workshops. You may not be 100 percent happy with the piece of paper you leave here with, but hopefully, you’ve had fun, enjoyed the process and enjoyed using the colors, and had a good time. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. It takes practice.”
