Oktoberfest SCORES AT HISTORIC FARM PARK AND MUSEUM

Oxnard--Oktoberfest made its return to Oxnard Historic Farm Park and Museum Saturday, October 9, as the venue attracted a large crowd wearing German clothing and ready to have a great time.

THE event was packed with great food and fun, including German music from Carrera, food, desserts, drinks, crafts, activities for kids, a Scarecrow Contest, and plenty of fun for the attendees.

Jeff Maulhardt organized the celebration and was excited to bring Oktoberfest back to Oxnard.

“We’ve done 10 of these events, and I’m happy we can put this on again,” he said. “There are a lot of people coming in that I don’t know, it’s their first time here, and I’m sure they’ll want to come back after having a good time.”

He said the beer came from the Poseidon Brewery in Ventura.

“They have two German-style beers and one they brewed for our event, Borchard Beer, named after Christian Borchard, who planted the first crop on the Oxnard plain, which was barley.”

 

He planned to watch a lot of dancing but did not commit to showing off his moves.
