Oxnard-- The rain was coming, but a small crowd faced the elements and enjoyed Sk8 Night at the City’s Downtown Parking Structure top floor Friday, September 9.
OXNARD Recreation & Community Services brings the event to kids of all ages and offers fun, exercise, and camaraderie.
Recreation Supervisor Olympia Hugo led the 2022 finale, and she said Sk8 Night launched in 2021, and the event was the third one in 2022.
“Our biggest attendance was on the first night,” she said. “It dipped a little bit at the second event, but also the timing with everyone going back to school right before classes restarted. For this one, we’re excited because it’s the last one of the year, people just went back to school, and we were able to share with students in our after-school programs.”
Olympia said the program began when the area experienced more Covid-19 restrictions, and there were limited activities that Recreation & Community Services could host.
